Managing People Training Programme

The most important skill in delivering results comes from being able to motivate, develop and manage your people and yet many organisations focus on providing the technical skills, without the leadership competencies vital to success.  This programme is delivered in small groups of no more than 8 people with similar experiences.  One course is designed for the first time Supervisor, Team Leader or Manager, and the second is for those more senior executives who have either never had formal people management training or would appreciate a refresher.

The course uses John Adair’s action-centred leadership model and is structured to provide in-depth training in three areas:-

  • Understanding, Managing & Developing individuals
  • Building and managing a team
  • Managing and achieving the task through the team

Through these key areas delegates will increase their knowledge and understanding in 5 essential management tools.

  1. Coaching
  2. Delegation
  3. Performance Feedback
  4. Communication
  5. Time Management

The Managing People Programme takes place over 3 full days over a 3 month period. So it gives attendees the opportunity to put new skills and knowledge into practice and build on them each month.  Every workshop provides a personal action plan and the programme is tailored to deliver the objectives of each individual.

The programmes are CPD accredited and provide 33 CPD hours.  They are delivered in Colchester, Essex and London.

“The training has enabled me to understand my role as a manager. It has allowed the middle management to create a strong and supportive team where issues can be aired and addressed, in a safe environment. The training I have received along with this support has given me the confidence to change long-standing procedures.” Jo Parkes (Finance Manager, Lepra)

Participant A has taken great effort to foster clear routes of communication between team members as well as to themselves as team leader. This is clearly paying off with the team members appearing happy and settled and in particular one member of the team who was previously unsettled is now happy. A has worked towards creating the larger team, by understanding issues that other teams have and the impact on the company goal. With this mind A is an active member of the team leader group. A manages their team in a way that encourages improvements that help A’s team members and those of other teams.” Line Manager (Manufacturing Company)

Testimonials

Rosemary has supported the development of our key operational managers through professional growth by facilitating the learning and development of fundamental leadership skills. I found that Rosemary’s solid understanding of her subject and approach to training very professional and powerful. With the online support as well, it’s an ideal way to continually absorb subject knowledge and skills. She encourages me to find solutions to my own challenges whilst steering me in the right direction, leading with best practice approach and insight.

Hazel Waters, HR Manager, Proxama

Dear Rosemary, I wanted to thank you for an excellent day’s training. You gave us a lot of information, tips and advice and made the whole day fun and interactive. I am more confident about my role, what I should be doing as well as the practical aspects and how to continually improve. I shall certainly apply the learning to my role going forward. I would have no hesitation in recommending your services to others.

William Tong (Chair BA CCG)

I’ve been through a lot of personal development workshops and tend to go in with a healthy scepticism as to how I will benefit. I generally like structure and the way in which you flexed the course content dependent on our needs made it even more useful and relevant. It was the most enjoyable programme that I've been on. It really opened us up as people and gelled us as a team. How would you describe the programme to someone who hasn’t been on it? A journey of self-discovery that makes you step back and helps you realise that the actions you take may have an impact or consequence on those who surround you.
